Being charged with drunk driving can be frightening and can have many negative affects on one’s life. These can range from loss of a driver’s license, loss of a job or to having to serve jail time in New York. It is also worth noting that there are other circumstances that can lead to one being pulled over on suspicion of a DWI. These can include fatigue or effects of medication.

A woman in Long Island was recently accused of drunk driving following an accident involving a construction truck. She faces a misdemeanor charge for driving while intoxicated as well as numerous vehicle and traffic violations. The incident occurred in the town of Greenburgh.

Police responded to a call about 12:45 a.m. of an accident on I-287 east of Greenburgh. According to the ensuing investigation, police reported that the woman’s vehicle had hit the back of the truck and that the driver of the vehicle that hit the truck was intoxicated. The woman was taken to the police barracks at Tarrytown. There a blood alcohol test was conducted and found that the woman’s BAC level was 0.24.

While facing charges for drunk driving can seem overwhelming and may cause one to feel helpless, there may be help available in New York. Attorneys experienced in dealing with DWI cases can be of assistance when it comes to ensuring that one’s rights are protected and that all procedures involved in determining the accuracy of the charges were carried out appropriately.
